Extension of the Portal
Proposals for linking new sources of data to eChemPortal can be made by any stakeholder represented at the OECD Joint
Meeting of the Chemicals Committee and the Working Party
on Chemicals, Pesticides and Biotechnology. The decisions on proposed extensions will be taken by the OECD Task Force on Hazard Assessment.
OECD actively encourages additional participation. Certain obligations come with participation. See "Roles and Responsibilities". For more detailed information contact the OECD Secretariat. Please email
eChemPortal@oecd.org.
eChemPortal will be implemented in stages. This Portal is the first version. The second phase will incorporate additional search and query options to retrieve and compile specific hazard or other effects data (for example, toxicity endpoints) from the participating databases.
As a first step to create a consistent way of reporting information of study
reports across regulatory programmes, OECD agreed
Harmonised Templates for reporting a summary of the results of a test on a chemical to determine its properties or effects on human health and the environment (e.g., hydrolysis,
skin irritation, repeat dose toxicity, etc.). The Templates corresponding XML
shema enables electronic exchange between IT systems implemented with the
template. This electronic exchange will be the basis for the second phase of
Global Portal to information on chemical substances.
To ensure the portal is enhanced to meet your needs, we ask that you take a few minutes to complete a web survey to provide your feedback on how best to improve the site.
